Player Review
Ortega was excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. His initial form is very solid and he is using his lower half well. Kid runs like the wind and destroyed the agility section. His hips are tremendous and he will have no problem getting downfield on punt coverage over the next couple of years. Love to see Ortega focus on making sure he is snapping in one motion and not hitching the ball at the start to increase the overall speed of his ball and get his RSI at VEGAS 30. He lifts the ball up a lot to start and that will cue the rusher and/or the timer. Easy fix that will push him way up the rankings.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .81
VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.29
VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 17.65

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
