Player Review
Hughes did well at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. Athletically, he moves pretty darn well on his feet and will be better when he lifts his knees up a bit more. Moves with passion. Needs to make sure he is not dragging the ball back as that will slow down the overall pace and lower his RSI in May at VEGAS 30. Like to see him focus on leading with his elbows to create more whip to improve his speed as well. He has a good base and Hughes his strong. Small fixes will reap huge rewards this spring in NC and VEGAS. I like his attitude and a coach will as well.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .96
VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.66
VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 7.22

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
