Player Review
Austin showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. He is a large Long Snapper with a tremendous frame. He could pass an eyeball test from a 1/4 mile away. Starting form is solid and he does a decent job of using his whole body when snapping. Austin needs to make sure he is not overgripping the ball as that will impact his spiral and slow down the snap. Also, want to make sure that he is not turning so quickly after the snap to see what is going on with the snap. When Austin does that, it can impact the accuracy of his ball. Potential is VERY solid on his strength alone. Keep an eye on him at NJ in the spring and at VEGAS 30 in May.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .89
VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.49
VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 3.26

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
