Player Review
Montoya did well at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. He is a large Long Snapper that gets his hands through well and has solid balance. Thick and strong. Like to see him slow down the process and work on slow motion drills about 3-4 times per week to get his snapping motion locked down to use all of his lower half to create an incredible amount of speed. His hands are so strong that he basically just flicks the ball back and he is almost at D1 speeds right now. TONS of potential on MontoyaAccomplishments

VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 14.77
All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.
RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
