Player Review
Steven had a good weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX EVENT on January 14-15, 2017. He is easily one of the most accurate and consistent Long Snappers in his class. His snaps look like they are coming out of a pitching machine....everyone of them is exactly the same. Steven lives in The Rubio Zone with the accuracy of his snaps. Love to see him speed up his hands out of the gate a bit more to get under, and stay under, .80 for punt snaps. Right now, he is in the mid .8s with a really catchable ball. Getting to average under .75 will push him way up the rankings. Quickness will be key. Athleticism is pretty good for a Long Snapper and will be better if he can control his body a bit more. Steven is a workhorse and will be the kid a coach has to kick off the field.

Steven did well at the Rubio Long Snapping fall camp in TX on December 4th, 2016. He has good starting form and he is using his lower half really well. I like how he explodes with his lower half and gets use of his full body. By VEGAS XXIX, I want to see Steven more athletic and quicker out of the gate. Tends to slowly roll into the snapping motion and that slows the snap speed down. If Steven can really get a good initial POP out of the gate, he will be in the .7s with no problem. True student of Long Snapping and he is always improving.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .86
VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.34
VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 38.16

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
