Player Review

When Clay is on, he is REALLY on and that was quite apparent at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. His starting form is VERY good and he is using his whole body well. Trusting his form when snapping and his feet when moving through the agility section will be big for him. Clay has the ability to be an excellent Long Snapper and he easily one of the top kids in his class....I KNOW it and I need him to know it as well. Moving and snapping with the utmost confidence will be key while not adjusting his hands prior to the snap to lock down his spiral and make sure no one can jump him off the line. Tiny, tiny tweaks will push him right into the TOP 12 Camp come VEGAS 30.

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
