Player Review
Townsend is coming along nicely and showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. Easily one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and could easily play two positions in college. Moves very well and is a true athlete that can also snap. Balance is solid and he follows through well. His hands are strong and quick. Needs to focus on slow motion drills to get his lower half fully involved. If Townsend put his mind on Long Snapping big time, he could take the top spot. TONS of upside and could easily find a spot at the TOP 12 Camp at VEGAS 30 with more consistency of speed.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .77
VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.00
VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 25.33

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
