Foley is an outstanding kicker. He is strong and has a fast leg. Gets great height on his ball and is very consistent. Look for this lefty to have a big year. Great talent and a great fit for Dartmouth!Accomplishments

Foley Schmidt, three sport athlete from Saint Thomas Academy , has committed to play football for Dartmouth College in the Ivy League next fall. Schmidt will join former teammate Timmy McManus as he focuses on place kicking and punting for the Big Green.
Schmidt capped off his three varsity football seasons with numerous school and some state records including 116 for 121 on PAT's, 83 Kick Off touchbacks, 13 for 16 on field goals, 9 successful fake field goals and extra points and this year averaged 38.6 on punts. Schmidt also was a Classic Suburban All Conference quarterback this past season and has been all state as a kicker and honorable mention all state as a punter.
Schmidt chose Dartmouth over a recruited walk on kicker offer from the University of Minnesota , numerous D1 walk-on offers, D1AA scholarship offers plus other offers in the Ivy League as 6 Ivy League schools recruited him per his 3.5 GPA and 31 ACT score. Schmidt also was offered D1 scholarships for soccer and has been contacted by Division 3 schools for hockey as a two year letter winner for the Cadets hockey program that is presently ranked #2 in Minnesota .
