Kicker Jacob Harfman Named State Player of the Month
November 13, 2008
For the second month in a row, a Mt. SAC Student/Athlete has been named the State Player of the Month. Kicker Jacob Harfman of the football team was named the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Male Athlete of the Month (all sports), for the month of October. Harfman helped lead the Mounties to a undefeated October and number one ranking with his kicking duties. He has been invaluable on kick offs, punts and field goals. During the three games in October, Harfman compiled amazing statistics including 18 PAT's (18 of 20), 7 Field Goals (6 of 7) and 5 punts. His most incredible stats come from his field goals where he has kicked 52, 53 and 56 yard field goals, the later shattering the Mt. SAC field goal record. On kick-offs, Harfman routinely forces opponents to touch back when asked to kick deep. Against Citrus College, he held the Owls in the end zone with 6 touchbacks during kick-offs. He has done no less punting, putting up incredible numbers (5 punts for 218 yards) including a punt average of 43.6 yards and a long of 51 yards.
