Why Rubio Long Snapping?
Written by Chris Rubio
Monday, 06 September 2010 11:32
Probably the most frequent question I get is: Why should my son go to a Rubio Long Snapping camp?It is a terrific question and I would ask the same thing. Here are just a couple reasons to choose me and my camps over others. After reading just a few of these, I believe you will see the answer is clear. Let's begin....
  • For the class of 2010 ALONE, I had 66 long snappers go on from either High School or Junior College to go on and play for a four year university. In case you were wondering, my next closest competitor had 15. Yes, you read that correctly 15. Let me say it again, I had 66 long snappers go to college while the next closest long snapping camp/group/instructor had 15.
  • I offer personal expert instruction. I do not pawn off your long snappers off to less experienced less qualified long snapping instructors. When you attend a Rubio Long Snapping camp, I will be there and will be the instructor....every single time. I could easily run a hundred camps per year with other people instructing as some do, but then all integrity is lost. Rankings would be skewed as no two people see the same way on things and then everything is lost.
  • The techniques I teach are unique and proven to be successful. This is the reason why more and more of my long snappers end up college year in and year out. In addition, it is also the reason why the Playboy All American Long Snapper for the past two years has been working with me for the past 7 years and I have had a long snapper drafted into the NFL.
  • I do not compromise integrity and quality for expediency or telling people what they like to hear. I am honest with my long snappers and their parents/guardians. I don't tell people what they want to hear, I tell them the truth. Each and every single time.
  • I am recognized by college coaches as "the guy" when it comes to knowing and recommending long snappers. They call me to seek my advice and opinions above all others in the field. This is proven that colleges will take my long snapper and then, in four years or less, will take another one from me. This happens time and time again.
  • My rankings are highly respected by the college coaches across the country. You rank well with Rubio Long Snapping and things tend to work out. Want proof? Click HERE
  • I already have four 2011 long snappers committed with full scholarships to major universities across the country.
  • Rubio Long Snapping has grown immensely in the past 8 years. Each and every year, I continue to produce the best long snappers in the country and more and more are picked up by colleges. Click HERE to see proof.
  • I work hand in hand with the Scout.com (for their rankings and articles) and with Rivals.com (articles, I know I know, I am working on them getting rankings....patience). These are the two most important recruiting websites in the world for high school and juco athletes.
  • I continue to upload videos of my long snappers that attend my camps to YouTube. They are free of charge and can be used at their discretion. I have already over 250 videos up loaded and the number continues to rise. (Just go to www.YouTube.com, search Rubio Long Snapping or click HERE

Setting up a Twitter account...step by step instructions
Written by Chris Rubio
Monday, 06 September 2010 11:29
This is step-by-step instructions on how to set up your Twitter account to follow me. It looks like a lot, but trust me when I tell you.....it is literally step-by-step. If you move really slow and aren't too familiar with the internet, this process should still only take you about ten minutes.
  1. Click SIGN UP on the right hand side in the yellow/orange box.
  2. Fill in the page. This would include your NAME, your TWITTER NAME (something creative or not), a PASSWORD, an EMAIL ADDRESS
  3. The click CREATE MY ACCOUNT
  4. A box will appear to see if you are a human (seriously) and you will have to TYPE IN A PHRASE. Go ahead and type it in and click SUBMIT
  5. You NOW HAVE A TWITTER ACCOUNT!
  6. It will lead you to a screen that reads: Step 1 of 3: Browse Interests To get started, select the topics you are interested in. Find a few people you want to hear from, then follow them. When you "follow" someone, each time they tweet, you'll see their tweets on your Twitter Home page. They are notified that you are following them, and will be displayed on your public profile. You can follow or unfollow sources anytime. I would JUST PRESS NEXT STEP
  7. Now you will be on a screen that you can enter your email password. This will help Twitter find all of your email friends that already have a Twitter account. I WOULD SKIP THIS STEP since it will swallow up a good amount of your time and brain power. Not worth it unless you really get into Twitter at a later time. BOTTOM LINE: PRESS NEXT STEP (BLUE BOX on BOTTOM)
  8. Now you are on a new screen that reads FIND SOURCES THAT INTEREST YOU. Who interests you? Rubio does. So in the box on the left, type in RUBIOSNAPPING.
  9. My logo and Twitter account will pop up. Click on FOLLOW. A little dial should go and then it will read "FOLLOWING" with a green check mark next to that word.
  10. Click NEXT STEP: YOU'RE DONE!!
  11. This will take you to your TWITTER HOME PAGE. This page will show you all of the updates that I have sent (or anyone else you choose to follow on Twitter). You can update this page visually anyway you want, but you can figure that out on your own. I AM JUST GOING TO SHOW A COUPLE MORE STEPS.
  12. On this page, it will show you a note that says: Please confirm your account - a confirmation message was sent to (your email address here) Until you confirm, you will have limited access to certain features on Twitter. Learn more Resend confirmation Resending confirmation - Change email address (Settings) JUST GO TO YOUR EMAIL, OPEN THE EMAIL FROM TWITTER AND CLICK ON THE LINK....THAT IS IT
  13. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP...FOCUS UP:) Now that you are on your personal Twitter page (You will probably want to bookmark this one and check it often...kinda addicting) and click on SETTINGS at the TOP.
  14. Now click MOBILE (third one from the left after the words accounts and passwords)
  15. Now enter your country (USA should be already marked but I embrace world followers so let it rain in passing on this email), then your CELL PHONE NUMBER and click START
  16. You will now be asked to send a text message (mine was the word: GO) to 40404. (That is the number you will see when you receive a Twitter update from me)
  17. Now you will just wait for Twitter to get confirmation that your cell phone actually is a working phone that can receive messages. PLEASE NOTE, you might have to do STEP 17 a couple times. or it may take awhile depending on internet traffic. It took me FOUR TIMES, but it is WELL worth it once it happens.
  18. Once it happens, it will take you to a screen that shows your CELL NUMBER. Now click HOME at the TOPThis will take you to your TWITTER HOME PAGE again. Once there, click on the word RubioSnapping. You will see a ton of updates from the on your page.
  19. Now MY TWITTER HOME PAGE will be on your screen. Right below my logo, you will see a green check mark and the word FOLLOWING. Now really focus here, click the teeny, tiny cell phone.
  20. Voila! You have done it. Now you have a Twitter account, you are following me and you will now receive my Twitter updates (called Tweets) on your phone as a text message (yes they are free if you already get texts)
  21. Feel free to mess around on your home page to add a photo, adjust the color or follow anyone else. Some celebs are good and some are just the publicist doing lame stuff. Have some fun with it. Bottom line, you are now connected and will receive updates throughout the day from me. Trust me, you will enjoy it...whether it be my morning quote of the day, an announcement about which long snapper has committed, a youtube video of a top long snapper, my protest of the day, a great photo of a long snapper in action, or my song of the day....you will have a good time with it. Plus, I play a lot of games on Twitter as well.

Day 2 Results

Day 2 of the prestigious invite only national specialist camp in Los Angeles, CA saw the top national talent step up once again.  The focus was kickoffs, punting, and long snapping.  Take a look at the results below:

Kickoffs: Riley Lyons (2011 GA) came out on top as the kickoff champions.  He was solid both in technique and result.  Riley averaged about 70 yards with 4.10 plus hang time.  This result will boost his national ranking and college appeal.  Other standouts included: James Hairston (2011 TX), Matt Green (2011 KY), Andre Heidari (2011 CA), Kris Selita (2011 MI), Connor Loftus (2011 CA), and Adam Griffith (2012 GA).

Punting:  Punt Competition Winners were Dalton Botts (2011 JC CA) & Will Monday (2011 GA).  Dalton is by far the best available national punting prospect at this time.  Offer Now!  Will Monday is already verbally committed to Duke University.  Other punters that had a solid day: Kris Albarado (2011 LA), Matt Williams (2011 JC CA), Ian Campbell (2011 JC CA), Greg Colquitt (2011 NC), and Chase Tenpenny (2011 JC KS). Today the combo players also competed with the punters.  Some top combo players were:  Alex Howell (2011 SC), Riley Lyons (2011 GA), James Hairston (2011 TX), Anthony DiPaula (2011 NJ), and Bradley Pinion (2012 NC).

2010 Chris Sailer Kicking "TOP 12" Invite Only Camp
Day 1 Results

The best of the best flew into Los Angeles, CA this morning to participate in the prestigious invite only Chris Sailer Kicking "TOP 12" Camp.  The 3 day camp brings the top specialists in the nation all to one location to learn with and compete again each other.  The talent this year might be the best ever.  Here is a Day 1 recap.  The focus was field goals, punting, and long snapping.

Field Goals:  Ross Martin (2012 OH) and Brady Stuart (2011 CA) stepped up to win the competitions.  Other standouts included: USC Commit Andre Heidari (2011 CA), Mike Bowlin (2011 JC CA), Matt Goudis (2011 CA), and Alex Mueller (2011 TX), and Garrett Owens (2012 CA).

In a head to head team field goal competition, once again the "TOP 12" came out victorious.  The outlasted the "Event Elite" and the 2012 Class Time with relative ease.  The "TOP 12" has never lost in this annual team competition.

L to R: Heidari, Goudis, Howell, Hairston, Bowlin, Loftus, Oliver & DiPaula

Punting:  Dalton Botts (2011 JC CA) was by far the standout punter.  He left no doubt that he should be the next national punter to be offered a scholarship.  University of Florida commit Kyle Christy (2011 IN) and Duke University commit Will Monday (2011 GA) were also impressive.  Ian Campbell (2011 JC CA) showed why he is one of the top JC punters in America.

Long Snapping: Dallas Noriega clearly showed why he is the number one long snapper in the country. Good size and runs well for his size. Ball is quick and he blocks very well. Scott Thompson and Zach Ewan both are physically strong and whip the ball back there as quick as anyone. Tanner Gibas is literally on the cusp of greatness. Once everything is fine-tuned he might move into a five star long snapper. Other long snappers that really shined were Bryce Haynes of Georgia, Samuel Rodgers of Pennsylvania, Harrison Elliott of Georgia, Matthew Wilkinson of Florida, Rick Lovato of New Jersey, John Sheperdson and Alex Den Bleyker of California. 2012 long snapper Reid Ferguson left no doubt he is the tops in his class. Dominated his class and could vie for a high rank in the class ahead of him.

Tomorrow's session will focus in on kickoffs, punting for the combo players, and long snapping.  I expect big things from Connor Loftus (2011 CA) and Adam Griffith (2012 GA) on kickoffs.  Alex Howell (2011 SC) and Bradley Pinion (2012 NC) should show well as combo players on the punting side.  And look for JJ Drescher (2011 TX) to step up in the long snapping drills.

Stay tuned for a Day 2 recap.....
